ARX Roofing & Exteriors wasn't started by roofers looking to expand into home services. It was started by construction operators who kept getting asked to do roofs — and finally decided to do it right.
Nathan Hall spent two decades building high-performing sales teams across the country, most recently in the solar industry from a home base in Montana — a long way from his North Carolina roots. Back in Charlotte, Steve Potts and Andrew Waltz were running Steward Building Group, handling roughly 350 to 400 new-construction, high-end remodel, and investor projects a year, and kept turning down the roofing calls that came with them. Not because the work was too hard. Because it wasn't what they were focused on.
Evan Waltz — working in construction himself and building the relationships that would eventually connect all three men — saw the gap before anyone said it out loud: most roofing contractors only look at the roof. Almost none of them look at the whole house, or the whole relationship, the way a construction company does.
The four of them started asking a different question — not “how do we sell more roofs,” but “what would this industry look like if a real construction company took roofing seriously.” The answer became ARX Roofing & Exteriors: full-house construction expertise applied to roofing and exteriors, project management discipline on every job, and — the part most roofing companies skip — a relationship with the customer that doesn't end at the final invoice.

Andrew Waltz

Andrew has spent more than 20 years in high-level general contracting and construction — the kind of experience most roofing companies simply don't have on staff. Originally from Pennsylvania, he's called the Charlotte area home for the past 13 years, building his career by growing and scaling home-building and development companies at both the regional and national level, all while running his own construction company on the side. At ARX, Andrew oversees operations and client relations, holding every job to the same standard he's used to run multi-million-dollar building programs. He co-owns Steward Building Group alongside Steve Potts, and lives in Concord with his wife, Tammy, and their four children.

Steve has spent more than 10 years building homes at a high level, including three years running his own building and remodeling company in the Charlotte, NC area. He came to construction from a background in design, and it shows — an eye for detail most roofing crews never develop. At ARX, Steve is the one actually on the job site: checking install quality and making sure every customer's experience matches the standard he holds his own crews to. Together with Andrew Waltz, he co-owns Steward Building Group, a firm completing roughly 350–400 new-construction, high-end remodel, and investor projects across the Charlotte area every year. Steve lives in Kannapolis with his wife, Sarah, and their five children.

Nathan spent more than 20 years building high-performing sales teams across the country — for national brands and fast-scaling companies alike — before bringing that expertise home to construction and roofing. At ARX, he leads sales team development, leadership training, and the technology behind how the company runs day to day, so every customer gets the same experience no matter who they talk to. Nathan lives in Concord with his wife, Felicia, and their four children.

Evan moved to the United States from Ukraine eight years ago, when he was adopted into the Waltz family, and has spent his time since working across residential construction — learning the trade from the foundation up. That hands-on background, paired with a natural instinct for building relationships, is what led him to head up ARX's field marketing, social media, and content today. For a lot of Charlotte homeowners, Evan is how they first hear about ARX at all.
